1974 VOLKSWAGEN DEVON CAMPER 

Devon was one of the most prolific of air-cooled Volkswagen Transporter converters. This 1584cc T2 ‘Bay Window’ Devon camper was registered in May 1974  and although, as an historic vehicle, it no longer requires annual testing, it has an MoT through to October 2023. The odometer shows 45,032 miles. According to the paperwork that comes with the camper, it was restored in 2012, with a replacement VEGA engine being fitted at the same time. More recent work includes replaced driveshafts and axle and new brake parts in 2021, and electric hook-up, leisure battery, water supply to sink under bench seat, lifting hinges for pop-top (although wooden supports are still required) and £600 pop-top bellows in 2022. There was also some replacement interior furniture. The interior includes an electric pump to the sink (with the switch by the sliding door), a fridge that operates from 12 or 240 volts, touch on/off light powered from leisure battery, new electric cooker replacing the original gas one and new DAB radio with cassette. A £700 service and MoT has just been completed. The VW comes with its V5C, full spec sheet with dates, some bills (including the recent £700 one), and MoT certificates from 2022 and 2023.
