This 1965 Jaguar E-type 4.2 Coupe Series 1 been with the vendor since July 2001, during which time a great deal of work has been carried out. This includes a repaint in 2016; refurbishment of the cabin and dashboard was intended to be done during 2021, but the ill health of the owner postponed this and meant the car saw little use from November 2020 to now. We're told by the vendor that the car - a matching numbers examples, confirmed by the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Certificate included in the paperwork - runs very well, and includes upgraded front brakes (with the rears overhauled during 2018).

The Jaguar's odometer shows 95,083 miles, which is believed to be correct from the history. It was registered in April 1965 and, although as an historic vehicle, it no longer requires an MoT, has been given one which is valid until March 2024. It was also serviced during March 2023.

The well-presented history folder is an extensive one and includes the V5C and all MoT certificates, tax discs, receipts for parts, and service and maintenance invoices during the vendor's ownership. All mechanical work was carried out by Jaguar specialist Alan Collins of Heybridge in Essex. There's also some other bills back to the 1980s and MoT certificates back to 1993 plus one from 1982. There's also a photographic record of the bodywork and respray carried out in 2016, copies of previous log books, the original chassis plate and a pristine reprint of the operating, maintenance and service handbook.

The car has also featured in a painting by Alan Fearnley as well as Philip Porter's Jaguar Scrapbook book.
