This 2548cc V8-engined Daimler variant of Jaguar's iconic Mk2 saloon was registered to Jaguar Cars in Coventry in February 1969. In 1996 (when the mileage was circa 27,957 miles), it went to a museum collection in Germany and stayed there until 2007, when it returned to the UK again (with a mileage recording of 29,401 miles). Back in Britain, it had a £5000 engine rebuild before going abroad again, this time to France. It stayed there for just a year and has been in the UK ever since, with some of the work since then including having the original seats refinished. The current mileage is showing as 47,748 miles, which is believed genuine and backed up by the history, which includes MoTs from 1972 onwards. There is no current MoT, as the Daimler is now exempt as an historic vehicle. Its last MoT expired in April 2018 after having been tested the previous year at 38,127 miles.

The vendor reports that the car, which is in very good condition throughout, is running well, with the only issues he's aware of being a very stiff bonnet release, a sticky rev counter (which generally starts working again if tapped), a slight vibration around 30-35mph and a small drip from the power steering.

There's an extensive history file accompanying the Daimler which includes the V5C, original owner's manual and sales and service directory. There are two large ring-binders with original delivery documents, the MoT certificates up to 2017, owners' club documentation and invoices from the 1970s through to 2022, including the one detailing the engine rebuild. In addition, there are photographs, show memorabilia, and relevant magazine articles. The Daimler also comes with a spare set of keys.
