Crayford Engineering, based in Kent, was founded in 1962 and specialised in converting cars into convertibles and estates. One of its more successful conversions was the Ford Corsair, which looked very stylish with its roof removed. A total of around a hundred Crayford Corsairs appeared. This 2.0-litre V4-engined example, which is unrestored but has been very well-looked after by the vendor (who has owned it for 10 years), was registered in September 1968. The paintwork and interior are all original, but the soft-top has recently been redone, and is this in excellent order still. Although now MoT-exempt as a historic vehicle, the Ford has been given an MoT, which is valid until July 2024. Its odometer shows 48,197 miles, which is believed genuine. Recent work has included new brake pads and shoes.

Paperwork includes the V5C, current MoT certificate, Pearson and Haynes workshop manuals, and invoices and previous MoT certificates. There's also newspaper and magazine articles featuring the Crayford, including a Practical Classics feature on the Corsair's designer, Charles Thompson.
