1970 MERCEDES 280 SL PAGODA AUTO LHD

This Mercedes-Benz 280SL finished in the lovely colour of Blue Grey with Blue leather interior, was built for the North American market where it remained until 2010. The current registered owners had lived in the USA for twenty years and originally purchased the car in 2008 as a very sound mechanical example in unrestored condition. The purchase from Aventura Motors Inc of Southampton, New York, included restoration work to be carried out. It was first registered in the UK in 2010 and has remained with the same family since. During it's thirteen years in the UK, where it has been based at it's London address, it has covered only 1,800 miles but has been subject to expenditure in excess of £27,000, much of which has been with specialists. The detailed receipts include UK specification headlights.

The car drives well and remains in good condition. The paintwork is good as is the chrome, the interior is very clean with the leather in nice condition completed with the ivory steering wheel and gear knob. Both hard and soft tops are included.   

It comes complete with Mercedes-Benz dating letter, receipts dating from 2010 until 2020, some USA documents including purchase receipt and customs declaration, owner's correspondence, MoTs, handbooks and various other documents. The odometer records 88,896 miles.
