Registered in May 1971, this rare ‘Arrow’ range Sunbeam Rapier fastback coupe in Cedar Green with four-speed manual overdrive transmission is due to star in five episodes of the BBC's Antiques Road Trip over this autumn and spring, featuring Ishy Khan and Izzy Marriott. Its engine was rebuilt in November 2019 and it is described as running well, having been recently serviced as well. The engine rebuild included new mains, big ends, oil pump, rings and timing chain; there's also been a new clutch plus four new tyres in 2020. The date of any restoration is unknown. Upgrades include alloy wheels and Mazda MX-5 seats, although the original steel wheels, hubcaps and front seats come with the car. Accompanying the Sunbeam are its V5C, a workshop manual, owner's handbook, spare keys and recent invoices including the bills for the October 2019 rebuild of the engine. There are also MoT certificates back to 2015; the Rapier has a current MoT through to July 2024 even though, as an historic vehicle, it no longer requires annual testing.
