1961 BORGWARD ISABELLA TS

The vendor acquired this Borgward Isabella TS with the intention of competing in the Mille Miglia but having watched the race, common sense prevailed. It was restored around 15 years ago and is still in very good order, although the vendor does note that there are now a few blemishes. He reports that the engine is good and does not rattle, smoke or overheat and the vehicle runs well. The gearbox is good, with its synchromesh functioning, and the brakes and steering also work as they should. The car runs and drives well (albeit with the clock and fuel gauge not working) and was serviced in July 2023. 

Originally registered in the UK in April 1961, the car was reregistered in the UK in December 1986 and is showing 6991 miles on its odometer. Its last MoT expired in October 2015 after having been tested the previous year at an indicated 6748 miles. Paperwork with the car includes the V5C, German parts catalogue, original log book, sales brochure, club literature, workshop manual, old MoTs and various invoices.
