1972 RELIANT SCIMITAR GTE 5A

Registered in January 1973, this Reliant Scimitar GTE 5A is showing 33,700 miles on its odometer and has had seven registered keepers overall. Its last MoT expired in April 2007 after having been tested the previous year at an indicated 29,365 miles. However, as an historic vehicle, the Reliant is now MoT-exempt. The car is reported as running and driving nicely, and was driven 80 miles to the auction.  It received a full respray in 2015 (from yellow to its current Mercedes-Benz Polar White) after having been stored from 2002 to 2015. Recent work has included servicing by the owner (who has owned it since 2020 and used it mainly for shows), including greasing. The vendors considers that the electrics could do with some attention. 

Improvements carried out include a plenum chamber with K&N air filter, triple-core radiator with draw fan, Weber electric fuel pump with impact cut-out, electronic ignition and Optima battery, updated fuse boxes, relays for headlights (although the inner beams require wiring to the spotlight toggle switch), Mazda seats, XJS mirrors, adjustable coil-over struts all round, reconditioned steering rack, Green Stuff brake pads, stainless steel fuel tank, stainless steel exhaust with flexible joint and new mounts, new rear light cluster and front indicators. 

Paperwork includes the V5C, MoT certificates, photos of the respray, and assorted invoices. There's also a set of spare keys as well.
