1994 FORD TRANSIT 80 SWB SMILEY

According to the vendor, this petrol Ford Transit 80 SWB ‘Smiley’ has led a cossetted life. Registered in November 1994, it was originally owned by a public school in Middlesex after which it was sold to the school's caretaker, who continued to use it sparingly. The MoT history and low mileage of 40,652 miles are backed up by the condition of the seats, mats and headlining, although a deep clean would probably be beneficial, in the view of the vendor. All the doors lock and everything works, including the rare cupholder. The van was driven to the sale from London with no problems, and its DOHC 2.0-litre petrol engine and five-speed gearbox working well. The vendor notes that the bodywork is starting to show its age, but considers it a solid, simple-to-fix, cheap-to-run and reliable van compared to its modern counterparts. Its MoT is valid until October 2024 and four registered keepers are recorded by the V5C. History with the Transit includes the V5C, a few MoTs and invoices, and the book pack, with the service book showing just one stamp at 20,734 miles in December 1992.
