1964 VOLVO AMAZON 122S RUDDSPEED 

This car is an original Ruddspeed (the 1950s and '60s specialist tuning firm started of engineer Ken Rudd) Volvo Amazon 122S registered in September 1964. In period, it received the following upgrades; Bilstein suspension, Ruddspeed polished cylinder head with raised compression, larger carburettors, tuned four-branch exhaust system and high-lift camshaft. The result was a car with 118bhp and a top speed of 100mph. In addition, this example also features power steering, sump and tank guard, a Brantz tripmeter, overdrive and upgraded leather seats. The vendor notes that the Volvo runs and drives well, although being a tuned engine, it needs to be warm before it runs smoothly. Recent work has included £4000 of work by Amazon specialist KSS North Ltd. The odometer shows 43,702 miles and the last MoT expired in November 2023 after being tested the previous year at an indicated 43,391 miles. However, as an historic vehicle, the Volvo no longer requires annual testing. 

Accompanying the Volvo are the V5C, a large file of invoices, old MoTs, the owner's handbook, press cuttings and an RAC report.
