The Ford Bearcat was a concept vehicle developed by Ford during the 1960s. It was a two-seat sports car concept that showcased innovative design elements and featured a fibreglass body. The Bearcat concept was unveiled at various auto shows in the mid-1960s but was never produced as a road-going vehicle. The concept aimed to explore new design directions and demonstrate Ford's engineering capabilities and vision for future vehicles. McNea’s renderings of the Bearcat’s various front-end designs evoke a feeling of what a classic mid-engine sports car is all about and share all the hallmarks of an Italian Super-Car. However, the Bearcat had the potential to be a classic, one which might have graced our auction room floor had Ford decided to go ahead with production. Sadly we’ll never know. We do, however, have an opportunity to see some of those fabulous lines of the Bearcat with this collection of renderings showing these various options of the ‘Front End of the Bearcat.
