1950 AC 2-LITRE 2 DOOR SALOON
LOT 572
This rare AC 2-Litre saloon, of which 1284 were produced between 1947 and 1956, is being sold as a restoration project. Registered in October 1950, it has been family-owned since new. It was gifted to the current registered keeper in 1964 by his father. The engine was fully rebuilt around 1973, according to an invoice in the history folder, after which the car seems to have been used until it was dry-stored in 1976 awaiting a body restoration that never happened. We're told that the AC was kept dry, locked away and untouched, although engine was hand-cranked frequently with oil put down the bores to keep the freshly rebuilt engine in good order.
The car is described as relatively complete with four new tyres recently fitted by Vintage Tyre Supplies to enable the car to be moved, The car comes with many spare parts from a donor vehicle.
Documentation with the AC includes the V5C, copy of the original logbook, several invoices (some of which date back to 1966) and old MoTs.
