To help boost sales of the MkII Cavalier, a convertible version joined the line-up in 1985. It took the fuel-injected 1.8 three-door saloon as its basis, with the conversion work being carried out by Hammond & Thiede and came with high equipment levels for the era. Production continued up until the introduction of the MkIII Cavalier in 1988, but the al fresco Cav was still a rare machine. This example was registered in June 1986 and had had just three registered keepers overall - with its last having had it for 26 years. Its odometer shows 50,049 miles. There's no current MoT; its last expired in October 2021, having been tested the previous year at an indicated 50,025 miles. The car runs and drives.
Accompanying the Cavalier are two old service books with stamps from the 1980s in them, although only one seems related to this car. There's also some MoTs from 1989 onwards plus invoices from the last 10 years or so and a Cavalier convertible brochure.
