The vendor acquired this 1976 Triumph 1500 in 2012 from a friend who had restored it (around 1998; it's also thought to have a reconditioned engine) and used it for driving to the Le Mans Classic. Since then, it has enjoyed somewhat more sparing use as a ‘high days and holidays’ car, not often out in bad weather and garaged when not in use. It is reported as running and driving well with no known issues. Upgrades include Mazda MX-5 seats with speakers, electronic ignition, immobiliser, new hood, stainless steel twin exhausts, an MP3 player and K&N filters. A new mohair hood was fitted a couple of years ago. The original colour of yellow is recorded as being changed to the current red in April 2004. The car was registered in November 1976 and its odometer shows 16,279 miles. There's no current MoT - as an historic vehicle, the Spitfire is now exempt from annual testing. The last expired in January 2019 after testing at an indicated 15,371 miles.
Paperwork includes the V5C, receipts from the restoration, photos of the rebuild, MoTs and servicing information. There's also spare immobiliser fobs too.
