1999 ROBIN HOOD 2.0 S7
This Robin Hood 2.0 S7 features Ford Sierra two-litre mechanics with a stainless steel monocoque. It has been off-road for 12 years, so needs recommissioning. The vendor, a Royal Navy engineer, was the one who built it between 1996 and 2000. It has received many modifications and upgrades for track use; it regularly attended car shows and was entered into motorsport events when road legal. It is currently non-running, but the engine (which was rebuilt around 2005 with a lightened and balanced unleaded head) was reassembled with many new parts during June 2024. These included a water pump, standard clutch kit, timing belt and tensioner, thermostat, sump gasket, rocker cover gasket, head gasket, oil filter and valve stem oil seals. The sump and oil pick-up filter screen have been cleaned (with no sludge or wear deposits evident). The cam oil spray bar was also checked and found to be clean. The soft-top is described as in good condition. The vendor suggests that the entire fuel system will need cleaning out after 12 years of not being used, a new battery will be required, the brake fluid will need changing, coolant added and the cam and ignition timing will need checking and setting.
The car's registration date was April 1999 and its odometer now shows 25,889 miles. The V5C shows just one registered keeper and the last MoT expired in May 2012 after having been tested the previous year at an indicated 25,496 miles.
Paperwork with the Robin Hood includes the V5C, some parts invoices, original build and modification information, MoT certificates back to 2005. The listed modifications and upgrades include Twin 40 Delorto carburettors, Hall effect distributor (no points), Vernier cam pulley, oil cooler, brake servo delete with adjustable twin-master cylinder bias brakes, modified calliper mounts and larger front discs, EBC Red Stuff pads, twin-electric adjustable temperature cooling fans, repackable straight-through silencer, baffled sump, oil catch tank, cabin heater, adjustable front drag links, tonneau cover, removeable doors and full hood.
