This 1976 Land Rover Forward Control FC101 served in San Carlos in the Falklands during 1982 as a Rapier launcher vehicle. It is also believed to have taken part in Operation Braveheart in 1984, a six-month Cold War exercise. It has recently been recommissioned including five new bar grip tyres, new canvas, new top and bottom doors (both sides), new rear crossmember sections and rear bumpers.

The FC101 was built and dispatched to the Central Army Vehicle Depot in Gloucestershire in September 1975 and was in use with the army until 1996; its date of civilian registration was November 2023, since when it has had just one owner. The odometer shows circa 25,000km and there's no MoT; as an historic vehicle, the Land Rover no longer requires annual testing. Paperwork with the Land Rover includes its V5C, operator's manual, Heritage Certificate and military records.
