3,993cc, straight six, 4-speed column change, manual. This Vanden Plas Princess DM4 limousine was despatched at the end of 1967 to the Ministry of Defence and remained with them until it was passed to its first private owner in 1972. This gentleman retained the car until 1980 when it was sold to its second owner who kept it until he passed away a few years ago, so it is basically three owners from new. During his ownership, it was maintained meticulously. A full interior retrim, including headlining, was carried out in 1981 and an engine rebuild to unleaded specification in 1999. It was recently recommissioned when two new batteries were fitted, so it is now running and driving faultlessly. Everything works in it, even the electric glass partitioning. This is a rare opportunity to buy such a nice example as this one, which has come from well respected owners.
The extensive history file includes every MoT from 1980 until 2015, handwritten notes of oil changes, new parts and other maintenance.
