1988 VOLVO 760 GLE AUTO

This is a Volvo with a big difference. It has been converted to a dragster although, for the last 20 years, it has been on display in the showroom of now-closed Volvo specialist C P Motors near Tamworth, Staffordshire. The 760 GLE was originally registered in January 1988 and has six registered keepers recorded on its V5C. Its odometer shows 1113 miles and its MoT is valid until September 2025. It features a 6276cc V8 engine from a Jensen Interceptor (set well back in the engine bay so the car is almost mid-engined) along with a Jensen gearbox, prop and rear axle. It runs and drives but, as it has been standing for 20 years, is likely to require a service and setting up. Its colour was changed from blue to yellow in March 2003 so it is likely that the conversion was done around this time. 

Paperwork includes the V5C, MoT certificates, some early 21st century invoices, timing slips from drag runs at the Shakespeare County Raceway and a rolling road print out showing 265.4bhp peak power and 286lb ft of torque.
