Pilgrim has been making Cobra replicas since the 1980s, with well over 12,000 made since then. This Met Blue (a Mustang colour) example was registered in November 1987 and has two registered keepers recorded by its V5C. Its odometer shows 126 miles and its MoT is valid to May 2026. The engine has been upgraded to a 375bhp Ford V8 385ci stroked to 400ci (6.6 litres, although the V5C still shows it with a 1.8-litre engine so this will need to be updated with the DVLA). It also has a Tremec gearbox with new clutch less than a thousand miles ago. All suspension and brakes have been modified to E46 BMW 3 Series; there's also an Omex 710 fuel ECU and fuel injection system. The repaint in Met Blue was carried out during 2011; the interior has been retrimmed as well. The Pilgrim has covered less than 5000 miles since its rebuild. A tonneau cover is included with the sale. It runs and drives but has spent some time in storage so now needs some TLC, according to the vendor. During our test drive, we noted that the throttle was sticking on and it was difficult to keep the car idling. The vendor has also told us that the gauges aren't working, the handbrake is inoperative on one wheel and the air conditioning needs a service and recharge. Paperwork includes the V5C, rolling road print-out and current MoT certificate.
