1971 ROVER P6 3500 AUTO

The vendor of this 3.5-litre V8 Rover P6 tells us that he bought it in 2014 from the son of its second owner – a company director of the firm that owned it from new. Since then it has been dry stored and hardly used, so it is now being sold as a project. The indicated mileage is 71,806.

The history file contains a pack of owner’s manuals, plus a service booklet recording 7 stamps up to 36k miles in 1977. More recent works have reportedly involved an oil and filter change, fitting a new radiator, draining the petrol tank and giving it fresh fuel, and fitting a new electronic distributor, HT leads and plugs. The vendor tells us the rear brakes are seized, and he believes that the chokes might need attention.

The car was first registered on 1st August 1971, and the V5C is present, indicating three former keepers. It comes with a boot-mounted spare wheel and cover in the boot, plus various pipes and gaskets.
