1953 AUSTIN SOMERSET

The previous owner of this lovely Austin Somerset has carried out what the vendor describes as "a complete 100% nut and bolt restoration from the chassis up". Since then it has covered an indicated 1785 miles, and has remained garaged since the vendor acquired it in 2022 from the grandson of its original owner. The V5C indicates only two former keepers.

It comes with a large collection of paperwork telling its history and the story of its restoration, as well as its original fuel ration book and buff logbook. This tells us that it was first registered in Northern Ireland on 7th February 1953. Among the paperwork is a BMIHT Heritage Certificate which describes its original specification as including a sliding sunshine roof, 12v electrics, Smith's mph speedometer, Mendip Grey paintwork and beige interior trim.

Also present in the history file is an original maintenance handbook, club magazines and spare keys.

The registration number is non-transferable.
