1997 MITSUBISHI PAJERO EVOLUTION

3.5-litre petrol, auto. This rare, globetrotting Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution has been used on long-distance rallies including in South America and South Africa. It began life as a homologation special, one of 2500 built to homologate the Pajero for the Paris-Dakar rally, complete with a 275bhp, 3.5-litre V6 MIVEC engine, Tiptronic automatic transmission, air conditioning and Recaro seats, which remain in place. It was imported to the UK in 1999, and acquired by our vendor in 2013.

The car has been MoT tested every year and the current certificate is valid to 22nd June 2027, the only advisory being to mention that the rear seat has been removed. Modifications include a full roll cage with side bars, race harnesses, Brantz trip meter and an additional fuel tank to give a range of up to 700km. Our vendor describes the car as “fully maintained and ready to go again”. 

It comes with spare keys, V5C showing 4 former keepers, and a huge history file comprising MoT certificates and maintenance receipts from throughout his tenure. These include a receipt for a full engine rebuild (complete with a new crankshaft) in 2017. The odometer shows 159,515 kilometers (99,118 miles).

The HPI report indicates that this car has a tracker fitter.
