1970 TRIUMPH 2000 MK2

1998cc, auto. This white Triumph 2000 Mk2 comes from an ownership lasting nearly half a century, and recently formed part of a deceased estate. It remained with the same family for its entire life until earlier this year, having transferred to the present keeper from his father in 1977. The MoT was recently passed with no advisories and remains current to 21st May 2027, and the odometer shows only 34,717 miles.

On the death of its previous keeper, the Triumph was put into storage and hardly used for 28 years, having covered only 33k miles. It was then put back on the road in 2007 and MoT tested almost annually up to 2016, before returning to storage. The vendor purchased it from its owner's estate in February this year and has given it a thorough recommissioning; work has included an oil & filter service, plugs, rear brake cylinders, fresh coolant, brake fluid, a new battery, plus a reconditioned gearbox and torque converter (costing £1165). We're told that no welding has been necessary. The vendor advises the car upholds its original interior which is still in fine condition due to its years of dry storage. 

It comes with an interesting history file containing various inspection sheets, tax discs, receipts and MoT certificates, some dating back to the 1970s. Receipts include details of the car's professional recommissioning in 2007, as well as its more recent work this year. Previous and current versions of the V5C are also present, and the vendor has included a collection of spares in the boot.
