1957 MG A 1500 ROADSTER
1498cc, manual. This MG A 1500 Roadster was repatriated from the USA in 2000 and received a partial restoration in 2021. Work included replacing the hood, carpets, trim set, complete front braking system, and fitting 1600 front & rear lights with new wiring. Due to illness, the car has not be used since its restoration.
It was originally sold to Manhattan Beach, California, and later lived in Nevada, passing between members of the same family. Paperwork includes some correspondences with biographic insights into previous owners and their careers in the US Air Force, as well as the car's Nevada registration certificate, 1999 advert (which describes it as “a very original car”) and a Heritage Certificate from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust. This records its original colour as Old English White, with black trim and hood, disc wheels, adjustable steering column and heater.
The car also comes with a collection of old photos, some seeming to show restorative work in the early 2000s. The V5C records 2 former keepers in the UK, and the odometer displays 97,047 miles.
The registration number is non-transferable.
