1973 DAIMLER DOUBLE SIX AUTO

This Daimler Double Six is a non-running restoration project that deserves to be saved from the breaker's yard. There’s much to do, but the red leather interior (which includes an original Radiomobile 8-track stereo) looks mostly salvageable, and the overall structural condition has been helped by spending several years in dry storage. Since 1982 has been registered to the same keeper, who bought it for limousine hire work in Cambridgeshire. 

We're told the 4.5-litre V8 is from a Daimler DR450 Limousine, which the vendor believes was rebuilt before installation. It hasn’t been turned over for at least three years, and no recent work has been carried out on the car. The latest MoT was passed in 2004.

It's sold with a pair of spare cylinder heads, and paperwork comprises previous and current versions of the V5C showing 4 former keepers, together with its 2004 MoT certificate. There is also a nicely preserved handbook pack and lubrication chart, with 3 early stamps in its passport to service – the latest being at 41,861 miles in 1980. Today the odometer is showing 62,726 miles. 

The engine size is recorded on the V5C as being 5343cc so the DVLA will need to be updated about the change of engine.
