2522cc, preselector gearbox. This lovely DB18 is one of around 500 ‘Special Sports’ drophead coupés built after WW2 by the coachbuilder Barker, which was by then a subsidiary of Daimler. It's looking very fresh in its two-tone grey/green paintwork, and the cream leather interior (complete with picnic hamper) is a lovely place to be. The last 3 MoTs were passed with no advisories, and the current certificate is valid to 20th July 2027.
The car is supplied with an excellent, well organised history file, with invoices covering many decades and a carefully compiled list of previous owners. It spent time in Florida before returning to the UK in 1984 and an engine rebuild was carried out in 1990, followed by a few years of heavy expenditure. Invoices show enthusiastic maintenance up until 2023, and today the odometer is showing 22,119 miles.
The V5C and the original buff logbook have been preserved, confirming that this car was first registered on 18th February 1952 in Southampton, with fawn/brown paintwork. Its last change of registered keeper was in 2006.
