1973cc, manual. Inspired by the Lotus 7, this extraordinary Suttol 7 is clearly the product of enormous skill and care. It features a TIG-welded 304 stainless steel spaceframe chassis and hand-made aluminium bodywork, and the engine is a 2-litre Lotus 907 DOHC slant-four (tuned to 180bhp) allied to a Getrag five-speed manual gearbox. The car is fully SVA tested and comes with an advisory-free MoT to 6th May 2027. The odometer records that only 1433 miles have been covered since the car's first registration in 2015.
The vendor tells us: "The proprietor of a custom exhaust business, its maker Mr Gooderham not only fabricated his own wishbones, engine mounts, and carburettor trumpets, but also made the English wheel with which to form the polished aluminium bodywork. The slight peak to the nose cone was inspired by Ferrari’s first mid-engined GP car, the 156, while its grill slats are titanium." The independent rear suspension incorporates a Ford Sierra back axle, and the front discs and all-round coilovers were sourced from Wilwood and Spax, respectively.
The car recently received a new cam belt, and we’re told it runs very well. The V5C remains in the name of its original creator, and is accompanied by a huge collection of information, invoices, and photos documenting the car's build.
