Less than 650 Daimler DB18 Special Sports models were produced between 1939 and 1953, so it was a rare vehicle even in period. This 2522cc Barker-bodied example was registered in February 1952, when it was given the numberplate JOW 88. It spent some time with a film company in Florida before being brought back to the UK in 1984, when it was reregistered OYM 167A and then received a non-suffix registration, OWC 429, in 1989. The odometer shows 21,933 miles, although reference to the history suggests this is 121,933 miles, and six registered keepers overall are noted by the DVLA. As an historic vehicle, the Daimler no longer requires an MoT; its last expired in July 2018 after testing the year before at an indicated 18,156 miles.

The vendor has organised its comprehensive history very well, with a list of known work done between 1968 and 2008. This includes an engine rebuild in 1990. There's also the V5C and a stack of invoices back to the early 1990s, including four new tyres, brake work and new shock absorbers in May 2023, suspension work in November 2022, and a carburettor rebuild in October 2021, plus servicing in April 2019. There are also various MoTs and V5s, plus the original buff logbook.
