1981 MERCEDES W123 230 E AUTO

This example of Mercedes-Benz's rugged W123 range, in 230 E Auto form, was registered in June 1981 and has had just two keepers overall since then, with its most recent acquiring it in 2019. Its odometer shows 58,185 miles and its last MoT expired in August 2022 after having been tested the previous year at 57,677 miles; the car has received very little use over the last eight years. As an historic vehicle though, the Mercedes is now MoT-exempt. The car has a full service history up to 2016 and 57,656 miles, when its service book was last stamped. The timing chain was also renewed at the same time. The vendor tells us that the underside of the car and all suspension and brake components etc were completely overhauled by the specialist W123 World during 2021 at a cost of over £10,000. However, the car has recently developed an intermittent running fault - with debris in the fuel system due to lack of use being the suspected culprit. It sometimes idles purely and stalls when engaging gear.  

Paperwork accompanying the Mercedes includes its past and previous V5Cs, online MoT history summary print-out, and book pack, with owner's manual, radio instructions and service book. There are also old tax discs, MoT certificates, invoices, a brochure, photos of the car with its previous owner plus other sundry paperwork. The car also comes with a spare key.
