Registered in November 1972, this is one of the rarer front-wheel drive variants of Triumph's ‘Ajax’ range. The 1500 in FWD form was only built from 1970 to 1973, with 66,353 examples appearing. This French Blue example is showing 40,593 miles on its odometer and has been owned by the vendor for the last 18 months, but received comparatively little use due to him needing an automatic car. However, it is described as all running and on the road, with a recent service. As an historic vehicle, the 1500 no longer requires an MoT - its last expired in September 2022 after having been tested the previous year at 40,400 miles.

The car comes with a large and well-organised history folder that includes the V5C, Haynes and Pitman's workshop manuals, owner's handbook and paperwork dating back to the car's purchase including the original bill of sale - for £1271 - and Passport to Service book. There are tax discs from the 1980s onwards, selected MoT certificates from the same era onwards, and invoices from the last 10 years or so.

In December 2005, the Triumph was a Category D Insurance Loss: Vehicle damaged but repairable - insurer decided not to repair.
