Registered in April 1966, this is the original version of the Daimler variant of Jaguar's Mk2 sports saloon, with the thicker and more attractive double bumpers that were dispensed with when the model became the V8-250 in 1967. It features Edward Turner's smooth 2548cc V8 engine, regarded by many as one of the best British engines ever designed, and is finished in red with matching leather interior and wire wheels. This example has power steering and is also fitted with a Kenlowe fan, stainless steel exhaust and electronic ignition. It now shows 60,663 miles on its odometer. As an historic vehicle, the Daimler no longer requires an MoT; its last expired in August 2018, having been undertaken the previous year at 59,613 miles. The paperwork file includes the current and past V5C, a collection of old tax discs, and bills dating back to the late-1990s, which suggest engine work around 2001 and some body work around 1998. More recently, there was a brand new carpet set in 2015 (£421.63) and a brake overhaul in 2016 (£630.85). The MoT certificates date from 2007 to 2011, 2013, and 2016 to 2017.
