This rare Alvis Speed 25 Charlesworth saloon was initially registered in November 1936, but subsequently reregistered in November 1983 in order to retain its numberplate. However, it is believed to be one of the last ‘missing’ Speed 25s, registered DGW 599 and originally Follett or Dynasty Blue with a blue interior - some of the upholstery does look to have been dyed green from blue). It was purchased in May 1967 by a gentleman who planned to restore it; some work was done, but the project was never completed. It has been stored in a garage since his acquisition. All parts are believed to be present (based on a viewing by a visit from the owners' club) and there's a spare gearbox included too. The odometer shows 59,274 miles.
Paperwork includes the V5C and V5s, green continuation logbook and a Sept 1967 tax disc. There's also some fragile workshop manuals and technical info, invoices from the 1960s (including from Alvis itself), some 1960s and 1970s club mags, The Alvis Car 1920-66 book by K R Day, owner's handbook and Alvis catalogue of spare parts.
