This Morris JB van is a genuine Post Office Telephones van, referred to by the GPO as a Planning Van as its has side windows and a table. It was used in service around the Brighton area. Once the property of Ken Bennett, a founder member of the Morris Commercial Club, it was restored to full GPO livery by him after purchase from a private individual in 2001, and comes with supporting paraphernalia inside. While the JB isn't currently running, it was last insured in 2022/3 so it was believed to be operational then. The vehicle was registered in January 1961 and has four registered keepers recorded on its V5C, although the original buff logbook that comes with it has more noted. The odometer shows 83,956 miles and the last MoT expired in June 2009 after having been tested the previous year at an indicated 83,526 miles. However, as an historic vehicle, the Morris is now MoT-exempt.
Paperwork with the JB includes the V5C, service parts list, MoT certificates back to 1997, old tax discs, technical information, lubricants chart and some invoices. There's also the original buff logbook, which shows the Post Office as the first keeper.
