1976 ALFA ROMEO 1600 GT JUNIOR

This Alfa Romeo 1600 GT Junior was built in 1976, and imported to the UK from South Africa. The vendor bought it in 2016 and embarked on a three-year restoration which included stripping the car, removing the engine and sending the shell to a bodyshop for a professional respray. He tells us that corrosion had been minimal, so it only required four small panels behind the wheels arches.

The car was put back together with all new braking system, installed by Alfa specialist Richard Drake, who also checked the engine and renewed the clutch system. Other new parts included a new exhaust, heater matrix, door and side panels, new leather trim for the dashboard, electric fuel pump and many other items. The car sits on new wheels and new Blockley tyres, and we're told it has not been out in the rain since its completion. It was driven 50 miles to our sale.

It comes with a large collection of invoices documenting this work, which totalled around £11,500. The vendor registered it in 2019, and he is this car's only registered owner in the UK. Various sundry parts are also present, including bonnet springs which have not yet been fitted. The odometer is showing 43,100km (25,662 miles).
