1998 LAND ROVER FREELANDER XE DI STATION WAGON

This lovely Freelander, finished in Caledonian Blue with a Smokestone cloth interior, is an early example with only 39,543 miles showing on its odometer. It was first registered on 17th April 1998 and had the same owner until 2020, when we're told it passed to a family member. It still wears its original dealer plates and spare wheel cover.

Being a five-door model in XE trim, this car has electric front windows, sunroof and side steps. The yellow switch on the gear lever signifies Land Rover's Hill Descent Control – a pioneering feature at the time.

Paperwork includes the original sales invoice from Duckworth Land Rover in Market Rasen, dealer correspondence and an extended warranty certificate. The file contains ongoing maintenance receipts from then on, with 8 services logged up to 37k miles in 2016. The vendor took possession in early 2025, and since then the car has received a careful recommissioning at a cost of nearly £2500. This has included all oils and filters (engine and gearbox) together with a new cambelt, water pump, tyres, front discs and pads, and a new brake pipe. It recently passed an MoT with no advisories, and this remains valid to 12th January 2027. The reliable L-series diesel engine is reportedly running well.

The owner's handbook pack contains a cellophane-wrapped handbook. We're advised that the radio currently isn't working as it does not respond to the accompanying code.
