1972 MERCEDES R107 350SL

This 3.5-litre V8 Mercedes-Benz 350SL (R107) received a full body and mechanical restoration prior to the vendor's ownership, which commenced in 2024. Both he and the previous owner (who had the car for 10 years) have kept it in dry storage, and it has covered only a few miles in the past year. In the vendor's words, it "starts, drives and stops with no issues". The odometer shows 94,631 miles.

The car retains its original MB Tex seats, door cards and dashboard. During the current vendor's tenure, the interior carpets have been renewed and the door cards (while original) have been re-mounted to new hard boards. New seals have been fitted to the doors, door pillars, boot and rear lights. The spark plugs and HT leads are new, the fuel tank and fuel lines have been flushed and a new fuel tank screen fitted, and a new blower motor has been installed. The car also has a new bonnet, deck lid release cable and horn, and the windscreen has been professionally resealed.

Documentation includes a stamped service book up to approximately 87k miles, receipts for parts fitted during the current vendor's ownership, and the latest MoT certificate which dates from 2011-12. (As a historic vehicle, the SL is now exempt from the annual MoT requirement.) The V5C records only 2 former keepers, and the car was first registered on 3rd October 1972.

It should be noted that the roof pin on the left-hand side will not open.
