1979 LEYLAND MINI 1275 GT
1275cc petrol, manual. This yellow Mini 1275 GT is sold as a project, having been off the road since the 1990s. Much work will be needed, but the car appears to be complete and has potential. The vendor tells us that the current registered keeper was given it in 1995, and her father then rebuilt the engine with a rebored block. Unfortunately, she had a light prang after just a few miles, and the car was then stored in a garage. The engine was run up occasionally, but the car was not moved.
It comes with its old-style V5, which remains current and indicates only 3 former keepers, all of whom are apparently next-door neighbours. We also have the handbook pack, a receipt for its engine rebore in 1995, and its MoT certificate from 1995 at 56,888 miles (today the odometer reads 61,337). It was originally supplied by Mann Egerton in Bury St Edmunds in December 1979.
The car sits on a set of period steel wheels, but one of the originals is in the boot.
