1980 FORD ESCORT RS2000

This recently restored Mk2 Ford Escort RS2000 is presented in stunning overall condition, with a body shell described by the vendor as “one of the straightest you will find”.

We're told that between 2020 and 2024 it received a “complete nut and bolt restoration”, including a colour change from black to BMW Signal Green. The build included various desirable upgrades including rear brake disc conversion, M16 front calipers, custom brake lines, a Quaife limited slip differential, a Gartrac pedal box and a gearbox rebuild with a long (2.98) first gear ratio. The engine is an upgraded 2.1-litre Pinto engine with twin Weber 44 carburettors, an RS air box and high-performance exhaust and manifold. 

The history file contains a stack of maintenance invoices, mostly from 2002-04 with a few from 2021-24. These more recent receipts cover the gearbox rebuild, radiator recore, and various other items. Today the car has an advisory-free MoT to 29th September 2027, and its odometer is showing 36,316 miles. 

The car is believed to originate from Germany, and was first registered in the UK when it was 7 years old in September 1987. The V5C still records the previous colour of black, so the DVLA will need to be updated. There have been only 2 former keepers, before the current registered keeper's tenure began in 2017.
