1952 MG YB
1250cc, manual. Known as Albert, this is a beautiful example of the MG YB saloon, still looking smart after its full restoration in 2009-12. It retains the original registration that it wore when it was sold by University Motors in March 1952, and survives in lovely overall condition. The two-tone grey paintwork and matching wire wheels are complemented by a handsome grey leather interior featuring a walnut dash, sunshine roof and plenty of period features.
The engine was overhauled in 2009 and treated to a Peter Edney fast road cam, a pair of SU carburettors and unleaded petrol conversion. Those carbs received a recent service in April this year, at the same time as a compression test and an overhaul of the brakes. The odometer is showing 17,229 miles.
The vendor has owned Albert since 2017 and has preserved the car's extensive maintenance history, which begins as far back as 1967. There is also a large photographic record of the restoration, a workshop manual and other related books, and the present V5C which records 2 former keepers.
