1973 VW BEETLE

1600cc, manual. Over £10k was invested in this handsome Volkswagen Beetle between 2016 and 2021. The result is nicely presented example many recent parts, with a smart interior that still retains a period feel. We're told that any necessary welding was done, followed by underseal and a beige respray, and the installation of a reconditioned 1600cc engine in place of the previous 1300. The vendor has spent some time recommissioning it since he bought the car in 2025, and describes it as a “clean, solid example that drives great, with a strong engine”.  

It comes with a large collection of invoices totalling over £10k, covering the period 2015-2025. Recently renewed parts include the carburettor, fuel tank sender unit, fuel lines, stainless bumpers, carpets and headlining, and various electrical parts. We also have previous and current versions of the V5C, and the car's latest MoT certificate which was issued in 2021. The odometer shows 58,943 miles.

The V5C still records the engine size of 1300cc, so the DVLA will need to be updated about the change of engine.
