5343cc, automatic. This superb Jaguar XJ-S V12 HE survives in unrestored yet beautiful condition with only 25,311 miles showing on the odometer, a figure which is believed to be genuine. The metallic red paintwork is almost without fault, and the original five-spoke alloy wheels wear a matching set of Pirelli tyres. The cream leather is also beautifully preserved, with very tidy wood trim and switchgear. A key highlight is the original Storno radio telephone (once an extremely expensive item) featuring a handset in the passenger footwell, control panel by the steering column and a receiver in the boot – which is also pristine.
The Jaguar has a long MoT to 20th October 2027, and is accompanied by its original handbook pack, with a service book containing 11 main dealer stamps up to 17,006 miles in 1995. We also have a collection of MoT certificates going back to 2002, a letter from Jaguar to the original owner when the car was 1 year old, some spare badges, and a certificate for an independent inspection in 2013 at 25k miles, describing the car as “one of the best available” and valuing it at “at least £20,000”.
It was sold new in April 1984 by Appleyard of Leeds, whose sticker still appears in the rear window. The V5C records only 2 former keepers, with the second owning the car for nearly 30 years from 1991 to 2020.
