This 1967 Ford Cortina MkII GT has been prepared to historic rally spec, intended by the owner to give cancer sufferers a track day experience. Unfortunately, the premature death of the owner halted the project. The car was registered in January 1967 and is showing 90,534 miles on its odometer, although this isn't warranted. However, since 2016 it has only travelled around 1300 miles and, despite the modifications, hasn't been raced while in  the past owner's custodianship (since April 2021). Having been unused since July 2022, the vendor suggests that a fuel change would be in order before the car is run properly again.

The upgrades carried out include a Safety Devices roll cage with door bars, double diagonal and harness bar. There are bronze polycarb windows and a laminated screen. The engine is a 1600 Crossflow bored out to 1.7 litres, lightened and balanced with a big valve head, high-lift Kent 244 camshaft, twin 45 Webers with an ITG air filter. The gearbox comes from a 2000E with a Tran-X straight-cut gear kit, quick-shift stick and AP paddle clutch. At the rear, there's a braced English axle with a plated 4.4 LSD. The suspension at the front is fixed platform Bilsteins with 190lbs springs and roller bearing top mounts, while at the back are Bilsteins with multi-leaf springs and 2in lower blocks. Braking has been upgraded to include front M16 calipers with Ferodo 3000 pads, rear RS2000 back plates and cylinders and shoes plus an hydraulic handbrake. Braided pipes run through the car and it has been rewired with an aircraft-spec wiring loom.

Documentation with the car includes the current and past V5Cs, MoT certificate from October 2021, wiring loom colour chart and Motorsport UK passport valid from September 2019 to 2029 within the Stage Rally Category 1 discipline.
