This Austin Mini Cooper S is sold as a rolling shell, accompanied by a large collection of parts and spares. Both engine and gearbox can be turned by hand and are described by the vendor as being in good condition, and we're told that all engine components are present. The odometer shows 88,015 miles.
The car has been registered to the same owner for 50 years, sitting in dry storage awaiting a restoration that never happened. Its recent Heritage Certificate confirms that it was built as a right-hand drive, home market Mk2 Mini Cooper S, built on 4th April 1968.
The seats and head lining are described as being in “very good condition”, and the body shell is reportedly in “good condition for its age” – though missing its bonnet. Interior highlights include a roll cage, extended switches, full-width dashboard with Smiths gauges, steering rake adjuster, sump guard and leather steering wheel. The car is also supplied with metal badges, 2 sets of Dunlop alloy wheels, 1 set of a Goodyear rally tyres, 2 Corbeau rally seats, period roof rack, 4 Cibie spotlights, 2 Hella halogen headlights, 2 Hella spotlights.
In the office we have a large collection of relevant books, manuals and brochures. Paperwork also includes an MoT certificate from 1975, the hand-written purchase receipt to its keeper of 50 years, its original green logbook, and its old-style V5, which remains current. It was first registered to an owner in Maida Vale on 16th May 1968.
