The Racecorp LA1 was a Sierra-based kit car, powered by Ford's 2.0-litre 'Pinto' engine. The vendor describes this red example as “as built by Racecorp”, equipped with electronic ignition amplifier, twin Dell'Orto carburettors and Racecorp exhaust. The odometer shows 33,064 miles.
It was last in use in 2012, but was recommissioned in March this year and now has an MoT to 10th March 2027. Recommissioning involved a comprehensive service including a new cambelt, clutch cable, wheel cylinders, rear flexi hoses, brake fluid flush, gearbox and diff oils, and a coolant change. The timing and emissions were also calibrated, and the carbs refurbished.
The car is supplied with wet weather gear, and a good collection of paperwork. This includes various old receipts and MoTs, service sheets, parts invoices and a stack of detailed information regarding parts used, wiring, assembly and technical specifications etc, to aid future maintenance or repairs. The V5C records 3 former keepers, and gives the date of first registration as 5th June 1992.
We're advised that the fuel gauge does not always read correctly.
