This gold, 1.2-litre Opel Kadett C has had only 2 owners from new, having been registered to its first keeper for 32 years. It was restored in 2011, and had its gearbox upgraded from automatic to 4-speed manual in 2015. The odometer shows 32,729 miles.
The vendor tells us he has performed annual services and maintenance himself, the latest being in May this year. The 2011 restoration involved a full strip down, minor body repairs, a new vinyl roof and headlining, and a full respray in the car’s original gold colour. The manual gearbox originates from a Kadett of the same period.
In 2016, the car made an appearance on Celebrity Antiques Road Trip (season 5, ep 16) where it was driven by designer Wayne Hemingway and comedian Graham Fellows.
The latest MoT expired in 2020, although as a historic vehicle it is exempt from testing requirements. Although there are no receipts with the car, it is supplied with a good collection of MoT certificates from the vendor's tenure, a period brochure, and its current V5C which indicates 1 former keeper. It was first registered on 7th February 1979.
Various spare parts also come with the car, including lights, springs, window mechanisms, etc.
