1961 FORD CONSUL CONVERTIBLE
LOT 607
1703cc, manual. This Ford Consul Convertible MkII has been rescued from many decades in storage. It survives in remarkably original and undamaged condition, complete with matching Firestone tyres, and wears a lovely overall patina. No attempt has been made to run the engine, so it is sold as a project, with 45,555 miles showing on the odometer.
The original buff logbook has been preserved, and records the first owner as The Hon James Herwald Ramsbotham, a peer of the realm whose father had been Governor-General of Ceylon. Other papers include a few old receipts and early insurance policy documents, original handbooks, and an old-style V5C which dates from 1984 but remains current.
