1969 TRIUMPH VITESSE MKII
This 2.0-litre Triumph Vitesse MkII was comprehensively restored during 2011-20. Finished in Signal Red, it is described by the vendor as “probably the finest example in the UK”, with 29,800 miles showing on its odometer. The vendor has kept it garaged, covered and trickle-charged since purchasing it in 2021, driving it less than 300 miles. In his words…
“This lovely car was a regular award-winner (several years running) back in the 1990s, in the modified / custom Triumph class. The next owner crashed the car then spent 9 years rebuilding it back to its original factory spec, including all the hard-to-find original Vitesse parts and extras (such as bonnet locks and aluminium bumpers). The day the project was over, he sold it. Since then it has done about 400 miles, has been garaged and seen no rain. It is in concours condition and has an insurance valuation of £30,000, as it is probably the finest Vitesse MkII in the UK.”
The history file contains a stack of receipts and technical info, original green logbook, valuation certificates, previous and current V5Cs, and a photo album and CD documenting the car's show wins and meticulous restoration. It is also supplied with a few spares, manuals and spare keys.
The car was recorded on VCAR as a Cat D insurance loss in 2011, prior to its restoration. Its first registration was on 28th March 1969.
